As requested, here are some belly shots to help you decide if baby J #3 is a boy or a girl (added 3/19).

Caroline and James are both so excited about our new baby arriving this August. We have carefully considered all of your comments about deciding whether or not to find out the baby's gender or be surprised like we have done in the past. After much discussion, we've decided to find out the baby's gender this time around. Little Caroline is 100% certain that this baby is a girl and just in case she's wrong, we want to be able to prepare her that she'll be a great big sister to a brother once again. We also decided that Linzy is right... this baby deserves the fun of guessing too so please enter your guesses in the comment section. In fact, make sure you guess, because if you don't, we just won't tell you what we know next week!
As always, you may want to factor in these important details:
* The Chinese gender predictor says we're having a girl.
* Both mother's and father's intuition say girl... however I've (Brie) been wavering lately.
* Alise's mother-in-law's pendulum test says girl.
* We haven't tried the Johnson family pencil test yet... maybe we'll keep them in the dark a little longer so we can have another blind trial of the tried and true test.
* Every little old lady that sees me guesses that it's a boy. One even got goose bumps when she gave me her prediction. Don't underestimate the power of the little old lady strangers out there.
* I've been about as sick as I was with both Caroline and James... maybe a little better (maybe wishful thinking).
* I have been craving sweet things, oh and salty things... although I'd be craving those things if I weren't pregnant. I've been drinking lemonade like it's going out of style, I'm pretty sure that's a real craving.
* The heart rate has always been high... in the 160s every time.
Make sure to get your guesses in soon... we actually find out on Tuesday March 20th! We promise next time we'll have real pictures to show off, maybe even ultrasound shots of baby #3. Oh, and if you love surprises as much as we do and want to be kept in the dark until August, we'll do our best to keep the gender from you. Just indicate it in the comment section.

Whoa! You want guesses and you aren't posting a picture of the baby bump?! Seems unfair to out of towners....
Would you be open to going back to visit the snake killing custodian?
Nope- even without these- I say GIRL!
And that should help everyone who guesses after me as I am 0/2 guessing Baby Johnsons!
(PS: the bracket my first grade class filled out predicts a UNC victory. But it also predicts Kansas State to the final four... So take that for what it's worth!).
Linzy, it's so funny you should mention a belly picture. The minute I posted this I knew you'd be asking for one, but I was already in my ill-fitting pajamas and not at all camera ready. I have a very strict "must be in pajamas by 7 PM when pregnant policy." I'll get a picture up there as soon as I can. I'll give you a one time change of mind guess if the bump picture sways your opinion. I've even thought of stopping by my old school cafeteria in hopes that the snake killing custodian would come out and take a guess. It was so much fun working in a school because everyone was prepared to give you their guesses no matter how awful the reasons... big bottom = girl, hairy arms = boy. Not quite the ego boost you need while pregnant, but still so fun with so many people excited for you.
I like those odds on your bracket... if I remember correctly, your first graders are usually pretty great bracketeers.
I adore the video. The enthusiasm with which James and Caroline exclaim, "BOY" and "GIRL" respectively, I immediately think of the numerous "TAR"..."HEELS!" chants that must occur in your home.
The Chinese calendar never fails in our family. It correctly predicted all of my nieces and nephews and Jack. So...I'm going with girl.
We are just so excited for all of you.
P.S. Don't remind Ron about how accurate that calendar is. He never fails to go back to his roots and remind me how terrific everything Chinese is. He's even had the guts to tell my dad something like, "The Italians didn't invent noodles; the Chinese did."
Unless, of course, this beautiful baby ends up being a boy. Then, we can wave that calendar around while enjoying a big meatball Parmesan.
Regardless, you deserve the meatball Parmesan before finding out the gender anyway.
Nama silly will go with Boy! I've been wrong so many times, maybe for once I'll be right?
A few more guesses after today's conversation with Grammy:
* Aunt Heather and Cousin Ina say it's a girl.
* Grandad says it's a boy.
* Grammy and Aunt Beth both think it's a girl but they're rooting for a boy!
Kelly, I'm pretty sure my cravings are going to take me straight to Tony's Pizza for a meatball parmesan this weekend!
Boy!!!
James is right this time! It's a boy!
-Aunt Muihrienne
Okay... we just added some belly shots. Good luck guessing! Make sure to get in your guesses before tomorrow morning. We'll let you know!
Ok, since I am ALWAYS wrong, I'm guessing boy. Olive need a best-friend-girl-cousin. Oh, sure, Caroline loves her like crazy now, but what's it going to be like in a couple years when her 3-year-younger cousin is following her around and annoying the daylights out of her. Much better if she can annoy her with a friend. My fingers are crossed that the legs are uncrossed today! Call me ASAP!
