Jamie's Big Haircut and Mommy's Big Run

Jamie was looking a little too "fratty" for out taste so we decided it was time for him to get his first haircut. If you'll remember, I was a young two-and-a-half-year-old when I got my first professional cut, but James was only 14 months old.
Don't feel bad Caroline, you probably remember turning one with 16 teeth, while I only had 6.

Before

I've got this Mom.

I'm a Dapper Dan Man.

Mom fills her roll as Family Historian. I fill my roll as Major Distraction #1.

I hope she knows what she's doing.

After
Does it get any cuter than this?

Ummmm... yeah.
Daniel and I immediately regretted the haircut as it instantly aged James by about six months. Where did our little boy go? I guess we have to admit that he's growing older... sigh.

Mom also participated in another half marathon this month. If you're counting that's three in seven months. Don't worry Grammy... she's quitting the long distances for the summer season. This time it was the Hickory Charity Chase. All of the other races have been perfectly flat (or maybe had one hill or bridge). This one was two loops and it was literally up hill both ways! That really made it rough on us spectators. Sheesh mom, have a little consideration for your fan club.

Granna bought Mom this super cute pink running outfit. It's a far cry from the normal spandex straight out of the 1980's.

At this race we saw a side of Caroline she usually reserves for our immediate family. Here is a little glimpse her silly side right out there in public!

We promised a picture of my new van and here it is! Yay! I love her! She still hasn't been named so we'd love some suggestions.

James getting creative with his car.

We also wanted to include a video for the 4th. Have a great holiday everyone!

Happy 60th Birthday Grandad! Lookin' good old man! We love you.

Thanks for visiting our blog and stay tuned for more. We just visited Granna and Grandad at the beach and had so many great pictures we decided to save them all for their own blog. We'll try to get those up in the next week or so.

Oh my gosh. Major squeezes coming your way, Caroline and James.

The way James beeps his horn must work wonders eliminating road rage.

Caroline will be ready to sing the Star Spangled Banner before the Super Bowl before we know it. You gotta love that "Donderly Light."

Hugs to you all!

Love!!! First of all, what did Caroline say at the end of her singing? I want to try a ___??? Is it right up there w/ the UNC video where she says "I want my lollypop now?"

SPEAKING of which - did I see that the football season opener is UNC vs. JMU??? This needs to be investigated more fully.

Usually I'm all over Caroline and James in these adorable blogs - but today I have to admit I am beyond jealous of Mom's ADORABLE running outfit - LOVE!! Not to mention how great she looks in it after two kids! And the sweet Silver Bullet mini van.

Hugs and Kisses!

Linzy,

Caroline said, "I want to try the swing." I didn't bribe her with it, but I was more than happy to let her give it a go after that rousing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

It does look like UNC plays JMU in Chapel Hill on September 3rd... you interested?

Thanks on the outfit complement... Granna sure knows how to pick 'em. I once told the captain of the pom pom squad in middle school that "It wasn't a sport if you could wear a skirt while competing." I guess I have to take that back now. Sorry Jocelyn- wherever you are. Get yourself a skirt for that Army 10 miler!

Well, I am VERY interested- but since Chris will still be serving out his summer sentence of working every weekend at the golf course we may just have to have this one out in a long distance battle of adorable outfits and smack talk. I'm going to have Abby's speech therapist get to work immediately on "Madison, James Madison, we are the Dukes of JMU".... On second thought- perhaps a dance video to the fight song will be more our style! BRING it, Johnsons!
