Sweet Baby James Has Arrived!

It's time to welcome my brother... James Daniel Johnson III, but we like to call him "Sweet Baby James"(for short). James arrived just before noon on April 9th. He weighed a whopping 8 pounds 3 ounces and was 21 inches long. Most importantly, he was born with a mop of dark hair and deep deep dimples on his cheeks and chin!

This is Mama when she first checked into the hospital, she's pretty excited because she knows that she'll be finding out if I have a brother or a sister very soon. Of course, I knew it was a boy all along.

I'd better take some time to introduce myself... I'm baby James. My mom and dad told my sister that she has to start sharing lots of things, including the blog. To avoid any confusion, I'll be writing in blue and my sister will be blogging in magenta. This is me when I first met my dad. He's a pretty cool guy.
Here are just a few pictures of me when I was brand new.

This is my sister Caroline meeting me for the very first time. I don't know why she kept repeating "Buh bye, all done."
These pictures make me look quite big, but if you were to see me in person, you would find that I'm just a little guy.

I'm already prepping for a career as a sumo wrestler.

If I don't look at him maybe he'll go away... If I don't look at him maybe he'll go away...
If I don't look at him...

Well, at least these guys appreciate a new baby when they see one.

I love my Unckie Cam. (Aunt Leesee informed me that Unckie needs to be spelled with a 'k' because the 'c' would have to be soft when followed by a long vowel sound).

I'm pretty sure this guy would have held me all day if they would have let him.

Here I am teaching Mama how to use her brest friend pillow.

I was nice enough to come along one day before my parents' sixth anniversary. Granna, Grandad, and Cam brought them a fancy dinner in the hospital. You should have seen the doctor's face when she saw the wine glasses and thought Mama had been drinking. Dad quickly explained that it was sparkling grape juice.

Mom is my biggest fan (and I'm hers).

They're trying to figure out who he looks like on the Leggat side.

We're both excited to be leaving the hospital today.

Dad says blue is definitely James' color.

Mama's friends will be shocked to see that her car is perfectly clean... for like the second time EVER!

This is my favorite place to relax and take a snooze.

Dad doesn't mind providing a resting shoulder either.

Even though my life has been turned upside-down, I still know how to have a good time.

Aunt Jenny knows just what a girl needs, chocolate covered strawberries. I'm a big fan.

Alright, just go ahead and burp me already.
Ahhhh, happy to be resting.
Oh my, this is embarrassing.

My brother doesn't like getting out of the bath either.

I know I sort of have a reputation for being a sleeper, but I promise I'll open my eyes when something interesting happens.

Grandma got me this new "Hop Hop" from the grocery store. I take him everywhere I go.

I thank her with a hug and a smile.

Here I am sleeping peacefully.

Then they let my sister jump up on the couch. Can't a guy get a good nap around here?

I guess I can sleep through it.

Oh, he acts like he doesn't love my snuggles, but look at those dimples. He's in sister heaven.

My sister doesn't go anywhere with out a hat these days. Mama and Daddy think it's pretty cute so they grab the camera and snap away. Here are a bunch of pictures of Caroline in her hat. I just couldn't decide which one was the best so I posted them all.

I think we're really going to like each other.

Granna brought me a fancy set of water colors and real artist's paper. She gave me my first painting lesson.

Well, that's that... our first blog post with two kids. We're sorry it took so long to get the pictures online and hope that it doesn't take so long to update. As you can imagine, things are crazy around here, but we're all getting the hang of it.
Thanks to everyone for your love and support.

What a treat to log on today and see all of these wonderful photos! Sweet Big Sister Caroline and Sweet Baby James, you two are the greatest. I think the dimple/sister snuggle picture sums it up perfectly!

Congratulations, Mommy and Daddy.
