Sorry folks, we know it's been a long time since we've posted. We have a ton of excuses, but we'll save them and hope that the adorable pictures you're about to see will fully make up for our blog neglect.
Our camera was broken for a couple of months and we finally got it fixed. In the meantime, we relied on Aunt Leesee's camera for some of our big events. This picture dates back to November. Caroline's preschool had a special Thanksgiving program and we all attended. She did a great job, if I do say so myself.
Sweet Pilgrim
Occasionally, Caroline decides to borrow my Halloween costume. I love her, so I oblige.
This is probably Caroline's last time wearing this dress. I just don't want to forget it. It's one of my favorites. *Sigh*
We love this picture of Jamie.
On the way to ballet.
I promise I'll behave.
In early December mom and dad ran another half marathon. If you're counting, that's four for mom and three for dad in just over a year. It was a good year for them. Granna and Monkey Cam came to take care of us while they ran in the cold cold cold. This was the first ever Huntersville Half Marathon. It was a small race with lots of smiling faces and crowd support. Granna bundled us up and stuffed us full of graham crackers and hot chocolate to make sure we could brave the cold.
This is mom at the beginning of the race. She looks pretty good just 100 feet in. Plus, she's three weeks pregnant in this picture. Yup, that's right, you don't have to read that twice. I'm going to be a big sister again. Mom and Dad didn't even know the news when they ran the race, but apparently a bunch of multiplying cells couldn't stop them. Mom PR'd by over two minutes and Dad took over four minutes off his best time! I have to say (since they really don't like to brag about themselves) it was a pretty big accomplishment since the course had its fair share of hills.
We took a break from all that spectating in a Starbucks.
Dad finishing the race (super fast).
Post race family picture... someone suggested that this could be our Christmas Card Photo... probably not. We were pretty over it at this point.
Decorating the tree. This year I was big enough to put the star on top.
Grandad, Granna, and Monkey Cam came to visit over the holidays. We like to celebrate Christmas with the traditional clothing of our Scottish ancestors.
We got this cool tunnel for Christmas. It provided some cool photo ops.
Christmas with Granna and Grandad
No need to open any other gifts...
I found these two little rascals in Caroline's bed begging for the chance to sleep there all night. I wonder who thinks that would be a good idea.
Aunt Leesee always shows up with the coolest new toys. These are her boots I like to wear around the house. They're great for stomping.
We tried to get some great Christmas photos of all three Huntersville cousins, but getting three kids under four to smile all at once is quite a challenge. In the next few photos, at least one kid looks good in each picture.
A couple weeks after Christmas we drove to Virginia to visit our Virginia cousins. There were seven kids under age four in all (plus two more on the way). Olive and I were the only girls, so you can imagine how adorable everyone thought we were. We had a great time at Aunt Ceilidh's house. So great in fact, that we only got this one picture. Feel free to check out Aunt Leesee's blog to see more awesome pictures of our trip together. She has a fancy phone that takes great pictures so she got a lot more footage of the trip than we did.
Great Grandad loved to watch us play.
One night I was making dinner and James and Caroline were off in the playroom happily playing together. I could hear giggling, rattling, and other unrecognizable noises the entire time. I realized that quite some time had passed so I called them into the kitchen to make sure everything was okay. This is how they presented themselves. I just love the way they play together- I want remember this moment forever.
One Saturday Daddy let us help him mop the floor. Who would have thought household chores could be so fun? I really don't know why mom complains.
It's that time of year again! Go Tar Heels!
Caroline was so proud of her Tar Heel cheerleading outfit that she went around Target asking strangers, "Hello, may I help you? I'm a cheerleader" or "Let's play a game, it's called follow the cheerleader." I love when my normally shy little girl breaks out of her shell.
We may have lost to Dook, but we did get some adorable family pictures.
Mom's friend Linzy saw this picture on facebook and wrote that I looked very interested in a little brother or sister... she didn't know how right she was!
Oh yeah, he's ready.
I just loved Olive's hair in this one and had to post. I long for the days when I will have such thick, luxurious hair.
Teeny, Tiny, Tired Tar Heel
Even Uncle Porter was home in time to enjoy the game. Well, I guess "enjoy" isn't the appropriate word. But we did enjoy the good ol' North Carolina BBQ and hush puppies with all the fixin's.
Uncle Ian and Auntie Em came to visit us in Huntersville. Then we loaded up the van and drove to the Outer Banks to see the rest of the family. Once again, we failed to get any great pictures while they were in Huntersville, but on the last day in Rodanthe we scrambled to pose for a few.
Here are Graham and Susi with our new baby cousin Curren.
Uncle Ian and I became fast friends.
Yay! We did get a picture of Uncle Ian and Auntie Em together.
When we got back, we were invited to my friend Elena's Valentine's Day extravaganza. Her mom is on pintrest. I'm not sure what that means except that every time her mom gets on that website, I end up with delicious food to eat and really fun crafts to do.
Granna is a big fan of overalls. Pretty much 50% of the Leggat siblings' baby pictures involve overalls. We were so pleased when Granna sent us a package containing Valentine's Day overalls. We made sure to get a family photo just for her. It's so much harder getting three kids to smile and look at the camera than two.
I'd smile, but I can't take time away from this lollipop.
I'd smile, but I already ate my lollipop and I'm on a sugar high.
Olive: Sigh, I suppose I'll have to be the "mature" one here.
Elena knows that when it comes to family pictures, her place is right next to me.
Uncle Graham teases me that I only own and wear leggings. Leggings with T-shirts, leggings with dresses, leggings all the time. They're super comfy and I plan to get away with them as long as I can. However, here is picture proof that I occasionally wear something other than leggings. Our Aunties got us these track suits for Christmas.
We visited the doctor for a check up today and heard the baby's heart beat. It was 160 beats per minute. I'm pretty sure that means she's a girl. In four weeks we have the chance to find out for sure that the baby is a girl. Dad is sure he doesn't want to know yet, but mom is starting to waver. You have exactly four weeks to make a case. Don't be afraid to exploit her pregnancy hormones when making your case. That's fair. We'll post an ultrasound picture either way.
Thanks for putting up with our delinquent posting. We'll be sure to put up more info soon.
