More December Fun!

We had even more fun this December so it called for another blog post. We attended Elena's first birthday... her mom Emily is my best friend. She had a snowflake-themed birthday. Daddy and I loved our birthday hats!

One of the other guests (Abigail) brought this pig... we fell in love and hung out for the entire party.

The Christmas Card photo that never was:
Mom took me to several places many times in numerous outfits to get my Christmas Card photo. Here are some of the pictures that never made the final cut:

I was practicing my scowling in this one.

Daddy didn't think the ones with the hat were Christmas-y enough.

Mmmmmm... this coat tastes like Christmas cookies.

At this point I decided to be afraid of Christmas trees.
I don't think the town of Cornelius will mind if I just take this one home with me.

We also went to see the mechanical bears' orchestra in Charlotte. I took my good friend Elena for a ride.

You guys have got to see these bears!

We even thought about trying another pajama picture.

Granna sent me this sweet little number.

Tutus put me in a very serious mood.

The obligatory Leggat family top-of-the-stairs photo... I wasn't too thrilled.

I got over it real quickly.
Please excuse the bed head.

Christmas aftermath

We visited Dad's family in Durham. The good ol' internet gave us the free up-grade and we ended up at the Caroline Inn (better known as the Carolina Inn). I was so excited to stay in the hotel they named after me. This is picture of me calling my peeps... "Hey guys, you'll never believe where I'm staying tonight."

Here is the side-by-side comparison of my two pictures with Santa. I think I've really perfected the "blank stare ahead" look I use only for the big guy. This year I thought I'd throw in the jaw drop too.

A few more things:

I forgot to post this picture of Daddy and me at Thanksgiving. Uncle Graham took the picture on his fancy new iPhone. He has an app that switched our heads. I think Daddy and I look more alike than ever! Now you know what I would look like with a little more hair and Daddy would look like with a little less.

This is a video of me back in early November. I'm practicing my mad DJ skillz.

This is a video of me on Christmas Eve in my new tutu. Sometimes tutus do not make me so serious.

December Fun

Daddy and I thought we would go ahead and run another race together.  This time we did the Santa Scramble.  Technically, this was not my first time running this one.  The first time I ran it with Mom two years ago, except she didn't even know I was tagging along yet.

This time I think I did a much better job of pulling my own weight.

I just love the roar of the crowd.

Just give me some cheddar bunnies and I'm a happy girl.

The highlight of December was our trip to see Aunt Leesee in Miami... oh and Uncle Porter too.  This is our snuggle chair.  Aunt Leesee snuggled me in this chair every day.

Aunt Leesee let me play with things like sunglasses and CD's.  Normally, I'm not allowed to touch those things, but that's what Aunts are for.

Aunt Leesee got a sassy new haircut just for me.

We went to the zoo and rented this bicycle built for four.  It's kind of like the Flintstones and the Rubbles going for a drive.

I liked to push it around whenever we stopped.

We're doing our "Three's Company" pose.

I was feeling very sick at the zoo, but Aunt Leesee didn't mind snuggling me one bit.  She carried me the whole time.

I love to call the elephants.  They didn't really seem to respond for some reason.

It's hard to see, but there is a parrot in the top right corner.  It was pretty neat.

This picture is for my Granna, she loves turtles too.

These dogs weren't as friendly as the other dogs I found in Miami.  They only ran away when I barked at them.

Mom says she didn't spend six years telling first graders they weren't allowed to climb up the slide just to have Daddy and Aunt Leesee let me do it.

Aunt Leesee says I'm still allowed.

I still love swings.

Thanks for a great time Aunt Leesee and Uncle Porter.

Sharing the Spotlight

On Wednesday mom and I went the doctor to take a look at my baby brother.  No, don't get excited... we don't know that he's going to be a boy.  I just call him a him because I think it's more polite than calling him "it."  Plus, I have a 50% chance of getting it right (that's right, Daddy taught me all about statistics).  Mom told the lady taking the pictures that she and daddy like surprises.  It's true... we all like surprises.  The more suspense, the better!  So the way we see it, nine and a half months of suspense makes for one of the best surprises you can get.

This picture is pretty neat because it shows how talented my brother is.  Look at how flexible those hips are!  Dad tells me that I used to be that flexible too, but it's pretty hard to believe.  If you look closely, his knees are next to his nose.... and you see that arrow?  That blurry spot next to the arrow is his foot!  I think he inherited my Granna's long legs.

Mom's pretty excited because she says my brother looks like her.  I think it's just wishful thinking because she gets pretty tired of everyone saying how much I look like Daddy.  I guess it would stink to carry a baby around for 9+ months and not even have any noticeable features to show for it.  She's not worried though... she claims that I get my "over all appeal" from her.
Frankly, I think he looks like an alien.

Just Ducky!

It's been a very busy October for us! We went the the race track and met a famous driver, he's just a little older than me. For those of you worried that I'll become a NASCAR fan, note who looks most excited in the picture below.

I took that other baby on the outside for the win.

Winning is fun!

I got all dressed up from head to toe in pink and brown... it's just something a girl has to do.

I went to the pumpkin patch where I practiced my posing.

Sometimes the outfit is just as cute from behind.

Here I am with my playgroup friends.

I think I'll take this one.

I practiced my walking outside.

I helped mommy dismantle her pumpkin... just a few days too early.

We took a second trip to another pumpkin patch. This time with Justin, Emily and Elena.

This year's family pumpkin patch picture.

I was a big girl on the hayride.

I can drive a tractor all by myself.

This is what you call "darling in denim."

When one dresses as a duck for Halloween, it's just too difficult to choose only one or two pictures, so I'm including them all. I figure it will make my Aunts very happy even if some of you get a little bored with all my poses.

Happy Halloween Everyone!
